Prayagraj, Ayodhya and Patalpuri Temple Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Morning: Hanuman Garhi & Ram Janmabhoomi Start your trip at Hanuman Garhi. Tradition says you must ask Hanuman for permission before visiting Rama. It’s a bit of a climb, but the energy is incredible. From there, head straight to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
Afternoon: Dashrath Mahal & Kanak Bhawan Visit Dashrath Mahal, the spot where Rama’s father lived. It feels like stepping back into a royal era. Then, walk to Kanak Bhawan, a palace-temple gifted to Sita. The gold-crowned idols and the music played here create a very peaceful vibe.
Evening: Saryu Aarti at Ram Ki Paidi End your first night at the riverbank. The Saryu Aarti at Ram Ki Paidi is the local equivalent of the Ganga Aarti. The lights reflecting on the water make for a great atmosphere.
Stay: Ayodhya
Day 2
Morning: Guptar Ghat & Nageshwarnath Visit Guptar Ghat, a more secluded and scenic riverbank where Lord Rama is said to have taken his final dip. It’s much quieter than the main city ghats. Afterward, stop by the Nageshwarnath Temple, which is dedicated to Shiva and is one of the oldest in the city.
Afternoon: Travel to Prayagraj Check out and begin the 4-hour drive to Prayagraj.
Evening: Civil Lines Dinner After checking into your hotel in Prayagraj, head to the Civil Lines area. It’s the city’s upscale district. Grab dinner at a local spot—try the famous "Prayagraji" style chaat or a North Indian Thali.
Stay: Prayagraj
Day 3
Early Morning: Triveni Sangam This is the highlight of Prayagraj. Take a boat ride to the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati rivers meet. If you want to take a holy dip, the boatmen will stop at a platform in the middle of the river.
Late Morning: Bade Hanuman & Akbar Fort Visit the Lete Hanuman (Reclining Hanuman) Temple near the Sangam. It’s unique because the idol is lying down. Right next to it is the Prayagraj Fort. While it’s a military zone, you can go inside to see the Patalpuri Temple and the Akshaya Vat (the indestructible banyan tree).
Evening: Khusro Bagh For a change of pace, visit Khusro Bagh. It’s a large walled garden containing the stunning stone tombs of Prince Khusro and his family—a great example of Mughal architecture away from the crowds.
Stay: Prayagraj
Day 4
Morning: Anand Bhawan & Alfred Park Visit Anand Bhawan, the ancestral home of the Nehru family. It’s a beautiful colonial mansion that served as a headquarters for the independence movement. Across from it is Alfred Park (now Azad Park), where the revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad made his last stand.
Midday: Last-Minute Shopping If you have time, head back to the markets near Chowk for some local handicrafts or the famous "red guavas" if they are in season.
Afternoon: Departure Head to the airport or railway station for your journey home.
